Find out how food can support your peace, health and happiness
Join us for one of our fall 2013 or spring 2014 Eating for Peace programs. We hope you will discover what we have, that there is more peace, more happiness, more joy to life when eating with the knowledge of what food can do.
Fall 2013
Recipe Recommendation Session: A Recipe Recommendation Session is a 'one on one' meeting
with you and an Eating for Peace cook practitioner. The focus of the session is on your particular needs, and how you can use food to bring peace, as well as mental and physical renewal, to your life. A traditional diet, which includes modern macrobiotic principles will be discussed.
To make an appointment call 281-399-9850
Introduction to Eating for Peace: Rooted in the teachings of east and west, the class explores, how what we eat can be the foundation for our peace, health, and happiness. By choosing consciously, with the knowledge of our ancestors, food can assist us in gaining greater access to the spiritual part of ourselves, thus enabling us to extend ourselves more peacefully to others. This six week program (same as above) invites you to explore how food is the foundation of our health and peace. Instructor Cecilia McDonald is a graduate of the Kushi Institute and president of 'Eating for Peace', a nonprofit organization which explores the contribution of food to personal and world peace. The Academy for Lifelong Learning (ALL) is a membership community which offers free and low-cost classes, events and activities for active adults 50+. An annual $20 entitles you to register for all classes in the program catalog.
Holiday Cooking Series - Just because you're eating healthy doesn't mean those holiday dishes can't be fun. Combine the benefits of the peace that comes from eating whole foods, and delicious seasonal recipes, to make your gathering with family and friends a 'win - win' experience.
